Y’all! I am here to help you amplify your small business marketing strategy! I’m so excited to announce that I have created an Ask Me Anything page to my website!
If you want to learn about the strategy behind AMA I talk about it on my podcast (see the link below). But here is a little bit of background..
Why I’m Doubling Down on Helping You With Small Business Marketing Strategy
A few weeks ago, it occurred to me how much I love providing quick business marketing strategy tips. I’m posting all of the time on my Instagram which I mostly do over stories about quick marketing tips. But it dawned on me, why am I doing this? Instagram doesn’t show up on a Google search!
I LOVE answering your questions and it makes me so happy to chat with the community but the advice that I am providing via stories expires in 24 hours.
As a marketing consulting this was a huge red flag for my SEO strategy. I mean what if someone decides to take a short hiatus from social media or is a new follower? I need to make sure my content is living well beyond the 24 hours. Are you starting to see how this applies to your business as well?
Why Your Content Shouldn’t Live On Social Media
How can I make this amazing content work for me, long-term? The content we put out on social media is great for brand awareness, client connections, and relationship progress. Social media content allows our followers to get to know us and figure out if we are a fit for them.
However, it doesn’t go very far since the only people seeing your posts are about 10-15% of your Instagram followers (and 15% is generous, depending on your algorithm!). You put a lot of time into writing captions or replying to messages, so my tip here is to repurpose this content, and allow it to go further in your marketing.
How do you do this?
It’s so easy! Simply copy and paste your captions into a blog. Make sure your blog has an area to drop an email, and boom – your one Instagram post is now turned into a sustainable marketing campaign that will drive traffic to your business for years. Yes, years. The average lifespan of an Instagram post is 24 hours, and the average lifespan of a blog post can go up to three years.
So… consider this your weekend project. Copy and paste some of your favorite posts and captions into blog posts. Make your content work for you long-term, improve your SEO, and continue to build your brand’s presence in a sustainable way. You got this!! Questions?
