Goli Stoli Jetset Pilates SoHo

Goli Stoli, owner of Jetset Pilates SoHo and Jetset Pilates Miami, joined me on the podcast today! Goli is the powerful and determined owner of 2 Jetset Pilates locations. I absolutely loved having her on the podcast because just short of 10 days ago, she opened up the Jetset Pilates SoHo location. I got to sit down with Goli in real time and discuss the pros and cons of opening a studio in the bustling NYC market.

Where it all began

Goli’s story begins with a profound personal transformation. Struggling with a severe back injury, she turned to movement therapies like yoga and Pilates, finding not just relief, but a newfound passion. This passion fueled her journey into the fitness industry. She has over 13 years of experience as a personal trainer! Her dedication to helping others harness the power of movement eventually led her to take the plunge and open her second studio in the vibrant neighborhood of SoHo.

Opening in NYC

Launching Jetset Pilates was no small feat. Goli faced the typical challenges of opening a business in a demanding market like New York City. Some of the hurdles we discussed I haven’t even thought about such as what to do with your trash when going through a buildout.

If you have ever been to NYC you immediately know that there is a lot going on. Thousands of businesses, millions of people, lots of differing opinions and personalities, etc. It’s not the easiest market to enter, and especially thrive in.

Although she has a successful Jetset Pilates location in Miami, FL, New York City couldn’t be anymore different. While the model is similar, the needs of the customers are different. The complexities of Manhattan challenged and required a blend of self-compassion, trust, and flexibility. Her story is definitely a testament to the power of persistence and the importance of adapting to market dynamics!

Building Community Connection

A cornerstone of Goli’s philosophy is the significance of community and connection in fitness. She emphasizes hiring team members who resonate with the studio’s values and nurturing a positive culture through transparent communication and regular workshops. By aligning personal visions with career paths, Goli ensures that her team thrives, creating an environment where clients feel valued and supported.

As a marketing consultant, and especially when working with a franchise model, it’s imperative to ensure your employees are on the same page. You company’s brand, message, and values must be articulated by all staff members. If not, then customers will be confused and perhaps not feel a connection with the brands story.

Goli discusses how hiring the right fit is more important than hiring the person who checks all of the boxes on paper. The employee has to contribute to the success and happiness of the whole group. As most business owners know, if there is one bad egg then everyone else feels the effects.

Grassroots Connections

Goli’s commitment to community extends beyond her studio walls. Understanding that fitness is as much about connection as it is about movement, she actively engages with her local community. Through grassroots marketing efforts, she has forged relationships with neighboring businesses, organizes community events, and offers free preview classes to welcome newcomers.

Goli even likens this relationship-building to nurturing a romantic relationship—requiring patience, multiple interactions, and a willingness to learn from marketing strategies.

Goli Stoli Overcoming Challenges

One of the most relatable aspects of Goli’s journey is her candidness about the challenges of small business ownership. You guys, owning a small business is really hard. It’s constant growth coupled with setbacks. However, it’s one of the most rewarding things to do.

She humorously shares her struggles with perfectionism and analysis paralysis. She advocates for action even in the face of potential failure. The energy and passion she pours into her work, and her openness is so inspiring.

Goli’s journey with JetSet Pilates SoHo is a beacon of inspiration for anyone looking to transform their passion into a thriving business. It’s a story of resilience, adaptability, and the transformative power of community. It serves as a narrative that reminds us that true success is found not just in services offered, but in the connections forged along the way.

So, whether you’re a Pilates enthusiast, an aspiring entrepreneur, or someone in need of a motivational boost, Goli’s story is sure to resonate. Visit Jetset Pilates SoHo and experience firsthand the incredible community that Goli has lovingly built, one movement, one connection at a time.

I personally have been to her Miami Beach studio and it was one of the best workouts!
