Cory Ruth – The Women’s Dietitian

Cory Ruth, the incredible Founder behind The Women’s Dietitian, joined me on the podcast. It was such a great conversation because Cory is an expert on PCOS and has helped thousands of women with their PCOS struggles. Not only has she built an incredible social media brand but she just launched her first book – PCOS is my Power!

As someone who has PCOS and has taken so many measures to balance my hormones and get my PCOS under control, I value Cory’s insight tremendously. As you are probably aware, PCOS stands for polycystic ovary syndrome. It affects hormones, fertility and so many women quietly live with it. Hearing Cory explain it not as a diagnosis on a chart, but as a lived experience, is a great mental shift for doctors or those who don’t deal with it.

Managing PCOS

As Cory shares her story, it’s clear that PCOS isn’t just something you manage physically. It’s something you carry emotionally. It affects how women see themselves in the mirror, how they feel in their clothes, how they approach food, and how much trust they have in their own bodies.

Cory spoke about the confusion that comes with inconsistent symptoms, the frustration of being dismissed or misunderstood, and the emotional toll of not having clear answers. I know personally, that I have tried so many things to manage my PCOS including upping my protein and fiber intake, finding the right workouts, and monitoring my glucose levels.

I love how Cory reframes PCOS. She doesn’t consider PCOS as something to conquer or fix, but as something to understand. She explains how learning how your body works instead of fighting against it can be so empowering. Which is true. Since finding ways to manage my own symptoms, I am the healthiest I have ever been.

When we have a health experience that has been undiagnosed it can make us feel disconnected from our bodies. But Cory empowers women to speak with their doctors about their symptoms and to determine if the symptoms they are experiencing are in fact, PCOS. Through proper nourishment, hormone balance, fitness, and nutrition you can find ways to manage it. Cory’s approach isn’t fear-based or setting unrealistic expectations.

Building a Brand Around PCOS

As meaningful as the PCOS conversation was, the shift into branding and business felt just as powerful. Cory didn’t set out to become a brand or a content creator. In fact, she resisted being a PCOS expert entirely at the beginning.

However, she set out to help women who were struggling the way she once did. That intention shaped everything she built. Cory Ruth’s Instagram presence grew not because she chased trends or tried to fit into a mold, but because she consistently showed up with clarity, honesty, and service. Seriously, go check out her Instagram page. It’s so awesome and authentic.

What stood out to me was how grounded her approach to Instagram really is. She doesn’t create content to impress people or prove her expertise. She creates content to support, educate, and reassure. That mindset shift is something I wish more entrepreneurs understood earlier in their journeys. Within The Friday Society Membership’s social media add-on, I give clear guidance on how to create content that is authentic and fresh.

When you stop asking how to grow faster and start asking how to serve better, everything changes. Your content becomes clearer. The message you want to convey becomes stronger and your audience becomes more connected and therefore your account will grow.

Cory’s growth didn’t happen overnight, and it wasn’t accidental. It was built through consistency, patience, and a willingness to share her voice even when it felt vulnerable. She didn’t wait until she had all the answers. She shared what she was learning in real time, and that honesty is what people connected to.

How to Build Social Media Branding

I tell TFS members all the time is that people connect with you. How we share our personal lives matters. Too often, people feel like they have to hide the messy parts of their lives to be taken seriously. No, you don’t need to share every aspect of your personal life but being open about your story is how people connect with you.

One thing I took away from this conversation with Cory is permission. Permission to take our health seriously without shame and to build a brand that feels aligned instead of exhausting. Permission to show up imperfectly but consistently.

There is so much pressure online to have everything figured out before you share. But the truth is that most meaningful brands are built by people who are still learning, still growing, and still asking questions. Cory didn’t wait until her PCOS journey was complete to help others. She allowed her experience to inform her work, and that authenticity became her strength.

Final Thoughts

If you are navigating a health challenge, building a business, or trying to find your voice online, remember this. You do not need to become someone else to be successful. You do not need to water yourself down or overcomplicate your message. Just show up as you are and you will attract the community that is the right fit.

I’m so grateful for Cory’s willingness to share her story.
