Hey! I'm Alexa!

I spent the last 11 years in the health & wellness industry, building brands into household names. Now, I bring that knowledge to wellness entrepreneurs through courses, 1:1 coaching, and The Friday Society Podcast.

ASK ME ANYTHING

Hey guys! I polled TFSM community for an ask me anything episode and you guys had great questions! In this solo podcast, I discussed questions around ads, booking podcast guests, enjoying your work and avoiding burnout in entrepreneurship, marketing mistakes, and more.

Let’s get into a few questions or scroll down to listen to the episode!

Marketing in the fitness industry

Ads: Reddit and Pinterest – Is it Worth it?

I’m often asked if putting ad dollars into Pinterest or Reddit is worth it. While yes, in some cases it is, I advise my clients to not invest into these platforms until their other systems are nailed down! When you spread yourself too thin across too many platforms none of them work to their full advantage.

Understanding your ad reach and cost strategy is important. I have built FFC completely ad free and it is possible! If you are going to invest in ads, make sure you have a solid strategy so you aren’t throwing your money away.

How to Book a Podcast Guest

This one is a little tricky because I am also learning this in real time. I swing a lot, and often times I hear ‘no’ but that is a part of entrepreneurship. I’ve had some awesome guests on my podcast. My strategy has shifted over the past few years and now I am focusing on solo podcasts, TFSM members, or industry leaders. Sometimes it’s just simply pitching an idea to a potential guest, doing your homework, and sitting back and letting them say yes or no.

Should I Stay an Employee or Become an Entrepreneur?

This one is tough because only you can decide. You have to ask yourself the tough questions such as do you have the mindset and discipline to own a business. It is not easy!! If things go bump in the night, or while on vacation, are you willing to stop your fun to tend to your business? If not, then perhaps entrepreneurship isn’t the best fit. And that’s ok!

Not everyone is meant to own their own business. You can have just as much purpose, enjoyment, and make just as much money (sometimes) by being an employee. There are benefits to both but before you take the leap really sit down and ask yourself, is this the lifestyle I want?

Common Marketing Mistakes

In the podcast, I discuss common marketing mistakes that I see all of the time. One that I will discuss here is that I notice a lot of business owners only sharing the business. Followers want to see your day-to-day and what’s going on in your personal life! I don’t mean to overshare every little detail of what you are doing but share what feels good!

Offer the book recommendation, the recipe, or your favorite place to shop for workout clothes. This type of information is interesting to your audience and they feel like they are getting to know you! Next time you are on Instagram share a fact about yourself or something you are doing that day. I promise it will build engagement!

Listen to the Episode

There is so much more information in today’s solo podcast so take a listen. It’s short, sweet, and to the point! If you have a friend who would benefit from this episode I would love if you would share it with them. I hope you enjoy!
