Hey! I'm Alexa!

I spent the last 11 years in the health & wellness industry, building brands into household names. Now, I bring that knowledge to wellness entrepreneurs through courses, 1:1 coaching, and The Friday Society Podcast.

Product launch 101

If you’ve been keeping up on social, you’ll know that I recently relaunched The Friday Society Membership. In just one day, I hit my goal of 20 sign ups and was over the moon! But here’s the thing – I’ve actually done this before, and completely flopped.

Product Launch 101

I was chatting with a friend last night, and I was telling her the story of how I’ve actually tried this membership thing out already (two years ago exactly, in April 2020) … but it was just not the right time.

I hadn’t built up enough credibility, I didn’t know my audience well enough, and most of all – I didn’t yet have enough clarity and confidence as a business owner to be able to truly carry out this membership in the way I envisioned.

What makes a launch flop?

So often, I see entrepreneurs and business owners launch a product immediately because they know the product is needed – and it flops. Maybe you can relate – you see an opportunity for a product, you know you’re the best one to deliver this option and have your clients be successful, but no one signs up.

In our first webinar of the membership, I outlined what’s needed for a successful launch, and let me tell you – all of the tips I outlined have come from both personal experience, and success stories I’ve seen from clients.

My 3 product launch tips

As you all know by now, I’m no gatekeeper. Free, effective marketing advice will always by my number one priority! Even if you’re not a member, here are my top tips for launching a product:

  1. Establish your goals early. Know exactly what your target success number looks like, and how many conversions [sales] you’ll need each day/week/month to hit your target.
  2. Set a PLAN for talking about your product. Are you committed to talking about it every other day? Linking to it? If you build it, they will not come. You need to TALK about it – and prove it. Then they will come!
  3. Have a communications plan set for multiple different channels of marketing. This can look like:
    1. Referral – can you have past clients and students comment on your launch post with their experience?
    2. Local / Likeminded Partnerships – Can you find 3 businesses with a similar demographic to post about your new product, and you’ll return the favor when they need it?
    3. Social – Can you post engagement stickers, questions boxes, and social proof to build excitement?

This is just a snippet of what we went through. Every single month, I hold a webinar dedicated to improving a specific area of your business (sign up here). We have worksheets you fill out in real time, slack access to ask me questions after, and follow up Q+A calls. Head here if you want to learn more about joining this amazing group of business owners!

As long as you’re making people happier and healthier with your business, you’re doing a great job.

Here’s to you,

alexa
