Year-End Business Must-do’s
Map Our Your Client Journey
I say this a lot in The Friday Society Membership, but an ideal client journey can look different for everyone. Last week, I was leading a marketing strategy webinar for Lesley Logan’s group of Pilates instructors, and I explained it like this – can you observe the way your clients move through your business in a VERY granular way, and write it all down?
If you’re able to take the time to do this, I guarantee you will see some glaring gaps that you’re able to fix quite easily. I’ve been doing this exercise with my clients for the last few months and it’s been so eye-opening, so I’m bringing it to the membership for January.
Our live webinar on this topic will be Wednesday, January 11, so if you ever wanted to hop in and take those next steps for your business growth, now is a great time!
How to:
- Observe your client’s touch points with you, and account for every single step. Keep asking yourself THEN WHAT? For example –
- A client hears me present for a group webinar. THEN WHAT?
- They go to my instagram profile and browse my content. THEN WHAT?
- They head to my link in bio, and find a resource that works for them. THEN WHAT?
- They sign up, and get a few emails from me about optimizing their marketing strategy. THEN WHAT?
- They either join the membership, purchase the course, or schedule a consult for 1:1 consulting. THEN WHAT?
You get the point. In doing this with a client recently, there were about 5 steps we were missing in between her initial answer of “they hear about me and then book a class”.
What steps are you missing? Get really detailed here, and of course, pop into the membership to go even further and uncover all you’re missing and could be improving!
Start Your 2023 Finances Off On The Right Foot
Make sure you are accounting for all of your revenue streams in one place.
Don’t wait for tax season to get a good grasp of what you’re making and where. If you don’t already, start right now with tracking your monthly finances by revenue stream in an excel or google spreadsheet. I prefer to see all of my months in one spot, broken down by revenue stream, so that I can see what’s growing, and what needs attention.
It’s important here to look into the growth of each revenue stream, and how that aligns with how you want to be spending your time. For example, if all of your active revenue streams (these are the revenue streams that require you to trade time for money and don’t have much room to grow) are growing, but your scalable revenue streams (these are the revenue streams that can continue to grow while you invest the same amount of time and energy) are declining, you might want to revisit your strategy here.

Start Your Year Off Using Systems That You Genuinely Love
This is a GAME CHANGER you guys. For the entire first 1.5 years of my business, I was being held back by systems that I resented. I just wasn’t having fun using things like Mailchimp and Squarespace – I felt the creative freedom was so limited, and that caused me to have literally zero fun while playing around with my business.
I was lucky enough to find a few business mentors that helped me switch to FloDesk and Showit (not paid at all with these brands aside from small affiliate fee from FloDesk– I just love what they’ve done for my business) and that was a huge shifting point in my business both from a revenue perspective AND a creative perspective.
If you’re using systems that you resent, switch. There is no benefit to holding yourself back. The sooner you rip off the band-aid of this process, the sooner you’ll have fun and you will absolutely see that in your revenue.
Lastly….
EXTRA – not marketing, but so so important. Schedule time off – you cannot pour from an empty cup, and time off and giving yourself space from your business, or just space to be off meetings, off camera, and off pressure is SO crucial to being able to run a high functioning business.
How to:
Block at least one day per quarter – one week day – that is just a you day. No meetings, no obligations, no on-time. Whatever makes you feel most recharged – spa time, beach time, TV time – do whatever you want, but do not put any pressure on yourself whatsoever.
Alright y’all, that’s it!! Always here for you – feel free to reach out whenever you have a question or need some guidance!
I hope you enjoy the episode!
