I am so excited to share the newest episode of The Friday Society podcast with you all! Erin Claire Jones is a human design expert, guide, and teacher. Erin is the Founder of Human Design Blueprint and offers custom guides, sessions, and classes. She has been featured in Forbes, Allure, and Vogue! She is a powerhouse and has accomplished so much since beginning her journey. I was honored to have a conversation with her where we talked about all things human design within your life and business. Human design is really fascinating to me, because it is another tool we can use to learn more about ourselves and understand how our personal style can impact running a business. This conversation was really eye opening and I’ve learned how I can leverage being a generator to run my business more efficiently while working in a flow state.

It only takes about 30 seconds and is based on your time, date, and place of birth. Before listening to the podcast, I recommend taking the quiz so you have a frame of reference because she teaches us traits about each design.
Human design reveals your energetic blueprint to give you insight into how you are naturally wired to thrive in your relationships, business, and life. It gives us practical tools which allows us to integrate and use them in everyday situations. It’s like we finally have the ‘ah-ha’ moment where we realize why we have sudden bursts of energy or prefer to hand projects over once we start them.
There are 5 different types; generators, manifesting-generators, projectors, manifestors, and reflectors which is the first piece to learning about your design. Each type has its own nuances which will be personal to you based on your birth details so just because two people are the same type doesn’t necessarily mean their traits will be the exact same.
My type is a generator! Any other generators out there? Generators are ‘doers’ and creators. If we are excited about something we can easily bring those ideas to life. Often this type can naturally magnetize things to them, but prioritizing and discernment is a key to prevent burnout. Often things have to show up in our world and present themselves in order for us to know it’s the right fit. In business, often take inventory of your offerings and tasks to find what is exciting or draining to you. The goal is to be satisfied with how you work and prioritize areas of your business that are exciting. If you are less than enthusiastic about a part of your business, see if you can pass that off to someone else on your team so you can focus on what lights you up. Generators are meant to be gut-led, not mind-led, so making decisions based off of your gut will allow you to be more magnetic in your business!
Manifesting-generators share a lot of qualities with generators and are multi-passionate. They can pivot, shift, and reinvent themselves while moving fast by being in their flow. In business, there are still a lot of similarities to generators but the key here is that they are meant to pivot and reinvent! So give yourself permission to move on from offerings that no longer feel aligned so you can keep up the magnetic excitement.
Projectors are here to be leaders, teachers, guides, advisors, and not necessarily here for all of the ‘doing.’ They have a great gift of being sensitive and attuned to others. Their energy can ebb and flow so they are recommended to take rest and find self-care that fills their cup. In business, ideally you are able to ground yourself with the support from employees who help you execute tasks. Align your day to be spacious so you aren’t overburdening yourself with meeting after meeting. If you have space to rest, the more inspired, creative, and energized you will be! Since projectors need to be invited in, keep making yourself visible and share your work with the world because you have so much to offer and this will magnetize the perfect opportunities!
Manifestors are here to be disruptive and shake things up! They are innovative forces who are here to create a vision and then hand it off so they can move on to the next things. They thrive off of freedom and autonomy so they prefer not to be managed by others. In business, since a lot of your energy comes in spurts at the beginning, have a team where you can hand things off and let someone else run with a project so you can move on to the next thing. Hiring a team that you don’t feel you have to micromanage is important since you want to manage from a place of freedom!
Reflectors are the most rare type and they are very sensitive to their environment. Just like a generator, they have to be really mindful of where and how they use their energy. Their job is to honor where they are and embrace their multifaceted self. They are wise and can see things that others may have missed. In business, be intentional about your surroundings because then the opportunities will come to you. Your gift is not about your capacity to hustle but more so allowing yourself to stay in your gift and not stretch yourself too thin.
Erin’s journey of becoming a Human Design expert is really fascinating because from the minute it was introduced to her it made sense for her to pursue it. I love the way she is able to translate human design into language that we can make practical for ourselves. Take a peak at her IG and you will find that she breaks down human design in an easy to learn way. I’ve been following her for years and have learned so much about myself and the other types. Also, her content is so fresh and exciting that I am constantly learning even though she has been sharing for over 5 years!
