The Viral StickerMule Email…

**my own political affiliation doesn’t matter here and therefore I’m purposefully not including it in this post**

Yikes

You may have seen StickerMule’s viral email, encouraging readers to show their support for Donald Trump and his campaign. The viral StickerMule email read:

As a marketing consultant who specializes in authentic community building, this is what I would have said instead…

“Hey friends – 

You may have seen the news yesterday about the attempted assassination. No matter your past, present, or future political affiliation, we’re all taking the day here at StickerMule to sit with this heaviness, appreciate each other a little more, and dip out early to spend time with our loved ones. 

We work incredibly hard at making your small business dreams a reality, and we appreciate your support more than you know. 

These are wild times, but we know one thing for sure – business owners with heart and drive like yours make OUR world go round.

As the founder of StickerMule, I will tell you honestly I’m a supporter of Donald Trump. I’ll be getting a few shirts to support his campaign, but I want you to know many of our employees are equally supportive of President Biden. Being a business owner doesn’t mean you can’t share your views. The viral StickerMule email missed the mark. But it does mean that if you choose to, you do so with tact, kindness, and absolutely no pressure for others to follow your path. He did a fine job at acknowledging the diversity of their internal team, but in a way to me that lacked foresight and strategy to support the company long-term. Curious to see what will happen ♥️ all comments welcome!
